This thicker consistency is designed to provide a stronger barrier for the skin to keep it hydrated. Hydrated skin is less likely to wrinkle and has a natural glow. Body creams are typically sold in a jar or tub container.
Like lotions, most creams are non-greasy, however, some do have greasier elements than others.

Body cream production is a very lucrative business all over the world. You can make millions of naira from it daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. It is a business niche you can venture into and make huge amount of profit.Body creams and lotions are easy to produce. In this manual I will show you how to make your own body cream, lotion, Vaseline and organic body butter, pink lip butter and lip gloss (organics).
Step-by-step process of production
Formulation concentration for 5litres/1000g of body cream

| Honey | 5 table spoon |
| Aloe vera gel | 3 table spoon |
| Sodium benzoate | 1 table spoon |
| Coloring | 1 table spoon |
| Distilled water | 4 litres |
| Shea butter | 3 table spoon |
Equipment needed
- Mixing tank( plastic bowl or container)
- Stirring rod or whisker
- Heater
- Weighing scale
- Standard steel pot
- Packaging container
This is now the all-important information you will find very useful as you set to produce your own brand of body cream. You will need to follow these steps I am going to share with you to the letter in order to have a good result. The steps are:
- Sterilize you work space and equipment with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol.
- Boil about 4 litres of water then pour the water in a bowl.
- Dissolve borax in the hot water and stir then keep separately.
- Then heat a pot over a stove or a gas cooker till it’s dry.
- Add stearic acid, croda wax and cetyl achohol to the pot and allow it to melt completely and stir.
- Then add petroleum jelly, paraffin oil, glycerine, shear butter and vitamin E and stir.
- Remove the now dissolved solution from the fire.
- To the borax solution add sodium benzoate and stir.
- Add the borax to the dissolved/melted solution and stir then allow to cool for about 1hr30min. It will thickening on cooling, still stir.
- Add fragrance, color, honey and aloe vera gel and stir till homogeneity.
- Then package into the containers.
Congratulations you have just produced your own brand of body cream.
